DACH Medical Group
Hands-On Experience with Surgical Robots?
Before hospitals make investments?
Made possible by Würth Leasing.

The Company
The DACH Medical Group brings new surgical technology to hospitals and surgeons in Switzerland, Germany, and Austria. This specialized medtech distributor focuses on minimally invasive surgery and innovative surgical technologies: systems and instruments for procedures performed through small incisions rather than large ones.
The company has been in business since 2010 and currently employs 32 people in three countries. The Swiss company is headquartered in Schindellegi in the canton of Schwyz.
With the Toumai® Surgical Robot from MicroPort MedBot, DACH Medical is expanding its portfolio to include robot-assisted surgery. The system combines robot-assisted minimally invasive surgery with integrated telesurgery. For DACH Medical, this is precisely what sets it apart in the market.
The Challenge
When it comes to surgical technology, hands-on experience with the device is key. Hospitals want to see how a system works in the operating room and test it for themselves before making an investment of this magnitude. That is exactly why DACH Medical provides its own demonstration unit.
For DACH Medical, this purchase represents a significant investment in the company’s future development. The costs are due in the short term. The company should not pay for them entirely out of its current liquidity, as it needs those funds for its day-to-day operations. Added to this was the time factor. The financing had to be in place by the agreed-upon delivery date so that the order could be placed on time.
The central question
How can you finance a demonstration unit intended to support sales without tying up working capital for day-to-day operations? And in time for the delivery date?
The Solution from Würth Leasing
Würth Leasing understood the issue and the time constraints and proposed a solution that perfectly matched DACH Medical’s expectations in terms of structure, execution, and support.
flexibly financed
Equipment Leasing
flexible term
Duration
The Toumai is financed through Würth Leasing AG using a straight-line payment plan with a residual value. DACH Medical thus pays consistent monthly installments instead of a lump sum. The residual value at the end of the term also keeps the monthly payments low.

Three points were crucial to the solution:
Equity Preserved
The investment does not affect either equity or liquidity for operating activities.
Pay as You Go Instead of Upfront Payment
The demonstration unit is used for sales purposes and is paid for over its useful life.
On time for the delivery date
The financing approval came quickly. The order was placed on time.
The result
Hospitals and surgeons can now experience the Toumai and test its functionality for themselves before deciding whether to purchase it. For DACH Medical, this financing marks the start of its efforts to acquire new customers in the field of robot-assisted surgery.
The next step is already planned: DACH Medical intends to implement the model in Germany and Austria as well. The partnership with Würth Leasing also continued seamlessly: Immediately following the first lease, a second financing deal was secured, and further investments are planned.

The Path to Würth Leasing
DACH Medical came to Würth Leasing Switzerland through a referral from Würth Leasing Austria. A company operating in three countries was thus able to find the right financing partner across national borders.
What DACH Medical highlights about the collaboration: a professional approach, speed, good responsiveness, and an eye for the right solution. The company is happy to pass on this recommendation.

“It took ten days from the initial inquiry to the payment to the supplier. This allowed us to order the robot on time without tying up our equity. That’s exactly how we envision a service.”
Mario Müller, Managing Director for Switzerland, DACH Medical Group GmbH
